I've searched a lot already and although there are software tools for PS3, I don't see anything claiming to work for PS4. So basically, the only thing I have left is this Archive.dat set of files, and I was curious if anyone has any experience deciphering/extracting it into something readable on a PC, so that I can copy just the save game data to a USB, and try to load it back into a freshly initialized PS4. Reformatting USB as exFAT and putting backup data back on it (still failed to restore)Ĭhecking cloud for backups (apparently only for PSPlus members, so that's a no-go) Moving backup data to an NTFS external drive (still failed to restore) "Restore database" on old HDD (almost worked, but save games show as corrupted) So naturally, the first thing I do is pop in the old HDD, to maybe retry the backup or something, but as soon as it starts booting, it attempts to "restore" onto the old drive, because I forgot to remove the USB before turning it on (yes, ok, I'm an idiot).Īfter that, I tried a few different things: Backup process succeeded perfectly, but the restore failed, claiming "corrupted backup" data or something ("CE-33310-0" I think). I bought a SSD to replace the PS4 hard drive, and followed the steps to do a backup (to a USB stick), swapped out the drive, and restore using the USB backup. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any experience getting save game data off of a full system backup.
